Performance Response 7/10 - This is basically your boot's stiffness. The higher the number, the stiffer - and therefore more responsive and carveable - your boot will feel. Freedom 3/10 - This shows how flexible boot is in both medial and lateral directions. A higher number means more tweaks! Comfort 10/10 - Higher numbers here refer to more plush and cush in lining, footbed and outsole. But also a softer boot is more comfortable automatically. Internal Lacing System Nitro's ILS system features a lacing harness firmly connected to the boot shell. This harness snugly wraps around the liner, securing it in the shell and providing precise lacing and fit for less friction, with a Dyneema® core for added strength. eFoam® Toe Protection E-foam is used in collaboration with Lorenzi, Nitro's Italian partner. This innovative material is very light and elastic while maintaining extreme abrasion and ageing resistance and mechanical strength, offering the wearer extreme comfort when walking, trekking, or boarding in even the most severe climatic conditions. E-Foam grants improved foot protection and extends boot life, and is a more ecological alternative to rubber and PVC. Lacing TLS 5 (Twin Lacing System) Easy lace engagement and release, combined with the low abrasion of Nitro Dyneema® laces, are the key factors of this highly reliable zonal lacing system, the most developed dual-lacing system available. Also, the TLS 5 features compact size and low weight while maintaining the reliability proven by tens of thousands of days on the mountain. Rarely needed servicing and replacement of all parts including the lace are easier than with any other system on the market. Even using a standard lace if you're in a pinch is an option only available on Nitro's TLS boots. Easy-entry handle storage pockets Molded TLS Lace Handles Bail Out pull tab system for easier entry and exit. Insole Dual Density Ortholite® Footbed Therminator Shield This thermal layer between sole and liner will reflect your body heat and keep your feet warm all day. Midsole EVA Midsole Used on all Nitro boots with rubber outsoles, the EVA midsole reduces the overall weight and provides cushioning and thermal insulation. Outsole Vibram® Outsole made of Vibram® Ecostep™ Compound Grippy and reliable new Vibram® Ecostep™ Compound, an eco-friendly recycled rubber compound developed by Vibram® and made up to 50% of recycled rubber. The rubber scrap generated by Vibram's production process is recycled in order to produce Vibram® Ecostep compound. It's a High-quality compound formulation, which offers a very good Vibram grip and traction in snow while preserving the environment through the waste reduction.
